TodayCare financial aid

PHCC has grant money to help students pay for licensed child care at TodayCare at PHCC. If you are an eligible PHCC student, you may be able to receive this assistance. For the 2008-2009 academic year, PHCC may be able to award from $450 to $750 per term to students who can document both need and licensed child care costs. Students must use TodayCare for the entire term to receive the full value of the award.

In 2005-2006 we began awarding eligible students with more than one child in the center a multi-child award. This equates to the amount of their original award plus an additional award at ten percent off the original amount. For example, for a parent who has two children in the center who is awarded $600, the total award would be $1,140 ($600-original award plus an an additional $540-original award less ten percent).

To be considered eligible for these funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • at least half-time enrollment at PHCC (6+ credit hours per term)
  • apply for financial aid
  • an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $0-2,500 on the Student Aid Report
  • have the child(ren) enrolled at TodayCare at PHCC, the on-campus daycare center on the West Campus
  • submit a completed application [PDF] and a brief (less than one page) explanation of how the child care funds would benefit you
Awards are subject to verification of required documents and the availability of federal funds. If you believe you meet the criteria, complete the application [PDF] and mail or hand deliver it to PHCC’s financial aid office by the following priority deadlines:
October 10, 2008 - Fall term I
February 13, 2009 - Spring term II

Applications submitted after these dates will be considered only if funds are still available.
