Student ambassador program
Student ambassadors will act as liaisons with the community and PHCC, interacting with the public and interested audiences to promote the college.
By becoming an ambassador, you would become part of a dynamic group of students who assists the college in special activities such as PHCC college nights, commencement ceremonies, board of trustees’ meetings, and other PHCC-sponsored events. Working through the student activities offices on all four campuses, Ambassadors serve as a vital link between the college and prospective students, current students and community visitors.
If you are chosen as an ambassador, you will learn about the college and receive training in interpersonal communication, public relations and leadership that will enhance your interaction with campus and community leaders. Ambassadors also receive a PHCC blazer and polo shirt embroidered with the student ambassador logo. All ambassadors will receive an $800 stipend ($400 per term) for a one-year term.
If you have a 3.0 or higher PHCC grade point average, you qualify to apply for the program. In addition to the academic qualifications, student ambassadors will be required to maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average and enrollment in a minimum of six hours in fall (term I) and spring (term II) for the year. Student ambassadors will also be required to devote a minimum of 10 hours per week (with flexibility in schedule as needed) and must be able to provide their own transportation for duties.
To apply for this prestigious opportunity, please complete the application and submit with the names of three high school or PHCC faculty or staff references (one must be a high school teacher or PHCC instructor). The deadline to apply is May 30. If chosen, you will be interviewed for final selection to the program.
