Message from the provost
Greetings and welcome to the North Campus of Pasco-Hernando Community College. I cordially invite you to visit our beautiful campus in Brooksville, and learn about our innovative faculty, challenging courses, stimulating student activities, and numerous rewarding opportunities that PHCC has to offer in Hernando County.
Students and their learning are at the core of PHCC’s vision statement, which emphasizes learning excellence, student success, and community service. Our North Campus exemplifies the PHCC vision statement by connecting students with outstanding professors who have a passion for teaching and value learning, academic excellence, student growth, and community service. As one of our students, you will be exposed to state-of-the-art, cutting-edge scholarship and a diverse array of learning resources on our campus.
Students are also at the core of our campus. In a recent survey of North Campus student satisfaction, students expressed overwhelming satisfaction with the North Campus. We value and are proud of this feedback:
- Ninety-four percent of respondents were satisfied with the instruction they received.
- Ninety-nine percent of the students that used the North Campus library and ninety-five percent of students who used the teaching-learning center were satisfied with those services.
- Ninety-eight percent of students feel safe on the North Campus.
- Ninety-seven percent of the respondents indicated satisfaction with the physical environment of the campus.
- Ninety-three percent of the respondents were satisfied with the comforts of the North Campus classrooms.
I strongly encourage you to become engaged in the vibrant student life on the North Campus. Communicate with your professors; visit and utilize our library, the Teaching-Learning Center, and computer lab services; involve our caring student development advisors in your course and career planning; attend our many campus activities, such as lectures and discussions, which strengthen learning; and join our active student clubs. Meaningful involvement with campus life increases the likelihood of your academic success.
Whether your goal is to transfer into a baccalaureate program, earn a certificate, or simply enroll in a course for intellectual stimulation, PHCC will provide the foundation from which to fulfill your goals. We are doing exciting things at PHCC’s North Campus, and this is an exciting time to be a student at PHCC.
Please visit, participate, experience, reflect, and enjoy.
