The PHCC volleyball team finished the season with an overall record of 31-11. They were ranked in the top ten in the national poll during the season, the highest at 2nd. The team’s record qualified them for the regional tournament in Dobson, N.C. At the regional touranment, they went 3-0 defeating Cape Fear Community College, Catawaba Community College, and Surry Community College in the finals. This qualifiyed them for the national tournament in Toledo, Ohio. The team went 0-2 at the tournament, losing to Phoenix College and Parkland College. The team finished in the top 16 in the country. Lindsey Watson received NJCAA First Team All American honors. Victoria Ashley was named FCCAA player of the week once and Lindsey Watson was named FCCAA player of the week twice during the season. All tournament team standouts from the season included: Quynn Fonseca, Victoria Ashley, Lindsey Watson, and Jessica Imbimbo.

The PHCC volleyball team won the District P Regional Championship in Dobson, N.C. last week. They defeated Cape Fear Community College, Catawba Valley Community College, and Surry Community College. Three players were named to the All Tournament Team: Victoria Ashley, Lindsey Watson, and Jessica Imbimbo. Jessica Imbimbo was named MVP of the tournament. PHCC won their home tournament for the second year straight, defeating No. 2 Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College in three sets and their new rival, College of Central Florida, in the championship. The Lady Quistas were led defensively by libero, Lindsey Watson, outside hitter, Victoria Ashley, and team captain, Jessica Imbimbo. After a slow start and five set loss to Florida College on Friday, the Quistas bounced back to a three set win against Broward and showed up Saturday on a mission to prove themselves to Grand Rapids and defend their court and National Championship banner proudly hanging in the gym. The Lady Quistas represented well with great defense being the key to their wins. The team will host Southeastern University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and St. John’s River Community College on Thursday at 7 p.m.
