Head Coach Kimberly Whitney

In eight seasons at the helm of the PHCC volleyball program, Whitney holds a record of 232-85. Whitney has led the Conquistadors to three Suncoast Conference championships, eight regional tournament appearances, four NJCAA national tournament appearances, and in 2010 won the NJCAA DII National Championship as head coach. In eight seasons on staff, Whitney has seen five All-American, six all-region performers and thirty-three all-conference players play as Conquistadors. Whitney was named the District H Volleyball Division I Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005. In 2005 and 2007, Whitney was named the Suncoast Conference Coach of the Year. In 2006, 2010 and 2011 Whitney was named regional Coach of the Year by the AVCA Two-Year College for the Northeast-Southeast Region. In 2010 and 2011, Whitney was named the District P Volleyball Division II Coach of the Year and in 2010 the Coach of the Tournament at the National Tournament.

Whitney (formerly Zschau) is a graduate of Kansas State University, where she still holds the records for most double-doubles, and is a top record keeper for games played, double grand club/career (kills/digs) and digs. Her outstanding performance at KSU earned a spot on the USA Women’s National Team in 2001. Whitney played indoor professionally in Gijon, Spain, Barcelona, Spain, and for the United States Professional Volleyball League's Grand Rapids Force. She also plays outdoor on the sand and has competed professionally on the AVP and EVP. Her highest finish on the AVP was a ninth which she has tied three times in Louisville, Ky. in 2007, Virginia Beach, Va. in 2010, and Hermosa Beach, Calif. in 2010. Whitney is married to Frank Whitney, firefighter for the city of Clearwater and they have one daughter, Koral.

Assistant Coach Jason Kucera

Jason Kucera moved to Pasco County in 2002 from Chicago, Ill. He is a graduate of Illinois State University and has been a Pasco County teacher since 2002. He coached volleyball at Seven Springs Middle School before becoming an assistant volleyball coach at Mitchell High School. His teams compiled a record of 37-3 and won three conference championships, including back to back undefeated seasons in 2009 and 2010. Mitchell High School also won their first district championship in 2010.

In 2009, Jason created West Pasco Wolf Pack, a traveling USA Volleyball Club based in Trinity, Fla. The Wolf Pack currently has 95 “indoor season” members and 50 “beach season” members who range in age from 10-17. Wolf Pack players currently represent 18 different Pasco County schools, as well as several schools in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Hernando Counties. Jason is very committed to growing the sport of volleyball in the Pasco County area and is excited to be a part of the PHCC team.

Athletic Trainer Mary Manning

Mary Manning has been at PHCC for seven years. Prior to PHCC she worked for 16 years for William Beaumont Hospital – Troy/Troy Athens High School in Michigan. She received her BS in 1985 from Central Michigan University in Education and Sports Medicine. In 1995 Mary earned her MA from Wayne State University in Education/Sports Administration.

While working in Michigan, Manning volunteered her time and was the athletic trainer for the Michigan Medical Miracles, a women’s 55+ senior travel softball team which won the world championships and the World Series in 2003. In June 2007 she volunteered her time and was the athletic trainer for the Kentucky Fillies which won the Gold Medal in the 60+ division of the Senior Olympics held in Kentucky. Currently, she plays travel softball for Rockin Ribbies – 50. In her free time she enjoys kayaking and fishing.
