Become a teacher in as little as seven months
Do you have a bachelor’s degree? If so, you can enroll in the Educator Preparation Institute at PHCC and be certified to teach in as little as seven months without quitting your day job. If you’ve ever considered becoming a teacher, there has never been a more opportune time, due to an unprecedented demand for certified educators in the state and throughout the country.
You choose... convenient online program or evening program at the New Port Richey campus
The EPI at PHCC provides people like you – people with bachelor’s degrees from regionally-accredited institutions – with the opportunity to become certified teachers – without the obstacles of excessive time, major expense and professional disruptions that typically prevent people from making a dramatic career change. By enrolling at the EPI, you’ll gain a solid foundation in classroom management, pedagogy and instructional strategies that will enable you to enter the classroom with the skills and confidence you need to be a successful teacher.
Important notes:
- The EPI program will not satisfy the course work requirements for certification in the following areas:
- Preschool education
- Pre-kindergarten/primary education (Pre-K-3)
- Reading
- Speech-language impaired
- School social worker or psychologist
- Education leadership
- Agriculture
- The 2010 fall session of the Educator Preparation Institute program is now closed for admission. The next program will run from January 2011 to June 2011. The application packet for that program will not be ready for shipment until late September. If you complete the “Contact EPI” form (left), you can expect to receive the application and information packet in October.
